What is HPL and why is it used for cleanrooms?
HPL (High-Pressure Laminate) is a dense, non-porous surface bonded under heat and pressure to the panel’s steel facing. It provides a smooth, chemical-resistant, easy-to-clean surface with no pores for bacteria or contaminants to collect – essential for GMP and ISO 14644 classified environments.
Which ISO cleanroom classes can these panels support?
With proper joint sealing, flush installation and appropriate HVAC design, ARCOPAN HPL panels support ISO Class 5 to 8 cleanrooms under ISO 14644-1. The panel system itself does not determine classification alone – air filtration, pressure cascades and joint sealing all contribute to the final classification.
Should I choose PIR or Rockwool core for cleanrooms?
PIR offers better thermal performance (lambda=0.022) at lower thickness, suitable for most cleanroom applications. Rockwool A1 is recommended where fire regulations require non-combustible construction, such as pharmaceutical manufacturing buildings over certain heights or with specific insurance requirements.
How are joints sealed to maintain hygiene?
ARCOPAN offers flush butt joints with silicone sealant, coved skirting at floor-wall junctions to eliminate dirt traps, and rounded internal corners. H-profile or snap-fit aluminium trims can also be used where a demountable system is preferred for maintenance access.
What documentation is provided for GMP validation?
