🔥 A1 Rockwool — When Is It Mandatory?

Required under EU CPR, UK Building Regulations Part B and national fire codes for: buildings over 11m, hospitals, schools, care homes, public assembly. Rockwool is the ONLY sandwich panel core achieving A1 — the only compliant solution in these applications.

Frequently Asked Questions

Technical answers for procurement engineers and project managers.

What is the difference between PIR and PUR wall panels?
PIR has thermal conductivity λ=0.022 W/mK — ~8% better than PUR (λ=0.024). PIR also has higher fire class (Bs2d0 vs E, EN 13501-1) and better stability above 80°C. PUR is cost-effective for standard applications.
When is Rockwool A1 mandatory instead of PIR/PUR?
Rockwool is the only core achieving A1 non-combustible (EN 13501-1). Mandatory for buildings over 11m, hospitals, schools, care homes, public assembly — under EU CPR and UK Building Regulations Part B.
What thicknesses and widths are available?
40–200mm (50, 80, 100, 120, 150, 175, 200mm standard). Width: 1,000 or 1,140mm. Custom lengths to order. MOQ: one full container (800–1,200 m²).
What coatings and steel finishes are available?
Polyester (25μm), PVDF (25-year warranty), PVC plastisol (200μm), Stainless Steel 304/316. All in RAL colours. PVDF recommended for coastal and industrial environments.
What certifications do ARCOPAN wall panels carry?
CE marked EN 13162 (Rockwool) and EN 13165 (PIR/PUR). ISO 9001:2015. HACCP for food-contact. Full test reports and CE DoP available on request.
